TOUR DESCRIPTION
This remarkable short inca trail is a short version of the famous Traditional Inca Trail, it is planned for those people who have an available little time, enjoying beautiful landscapes and diversity of plants such as the orchids and variety of birds. The first day of the hike is about 11 kilometers, you will be able to observe and get to know one of the greatest cultures in South America. The Short Inca Trail is hidden among the Andean mountains with constructions on top of the mountains dominating the Andean Valley and part of the Peruvian Amazon. With the arrival of the conquerors this culture disappeared, but they left us signs and relics some of them intact as we will see during this hike.

Day 1: Wiñayhuayna to Machu Picchu Pueblo (distance 10 km. about 06hrs.)
Day 2: Visit to Machu Picchu (about 02:30hrs)

DETAILED TOUR:

DAY 1: CUSCO – KM. 104 – WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO
You will be picked up from your hotel at 3:30 am and transferred (by bus) to the train station in Ollantaytambo to take the 7:00 am train to km 104 (2000 m.a.s.l./ 6560 ft) located along the Urubamba River where the hike (Camino Inca) will begin. Before heading to visit the Inca archaeological site, we will provide you with a packed lunch and drinks, as well as a briefing, which will be provided by our professional guide. Here you have the chance to take beautiful views of the snow-capped mountains and when you are ready start our hike towards the classic short Inca trail where we will visit: Machu Picchu, the Urubamba River and other Inca sites.
From km 104 to Wiñayhuayna (Quechua word “Forever Young”, 2600 m.a.s.l/8530 ft) will take us around 3 hours, this place has the ancient houses of the ancient priests of Machu Picchu. Continuing on this route we will arrive to Inti Punku (4 km) where we will have the first view of the historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu. From here the trail will start to descend towards Machu Picchu where we will have the opportunity to take some spectacular photos. We will take a bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo where the guide will take us to the hotel, followed later by dinner at a restaurant.

DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO – MACHU PICCHU – MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO – CUSCO
At 4:30 in the morning we head to Machu Picchu with our professional guide to visit the highlights for about 02 hour guided tour. After the tour, you will have time to visit Machu Picchu again or Inti Punku (the Sun Gate) on your own. In the afternoon we will return to Machu Picchu Pueblo, take a train to Ollantaytambo followed by bus back to Cusco.
